What should I do if my Pet is Missing?
If your dog has gone missing check with your local Dog Pound. For dogs lost in County Kildare, call the Kildare Dog Warden – 059 8623388. Dogs found straying without an identity tag will often be brought to the Pound where they may only be kept for 5 days. Check with them every day.
Call your local SPCA as lost pets are often reported to them. For the Kildare & West Wicklow SPCA call 087 1279835 or 087 6887136 or 087 2517381. Send a photo of your pet to kwwspca@gmail.com and the KWWSPCA will post it on its Facebook page and ask for it to be shared. Also phone the Kildare Animal Foundation 045 522929 as lost animals are often taken into its care.
Contact your local Gardai. Stray dogs and cats which have been found are often reported to the nearest Garda Station. Check with them frequently and ask them to write down the details.
