KWWSPCA TNR SERVICE – SUCCESSFUL 2021

The KWWSPCA’s Trap, Neuter & Return (TNR) Service for feral cats has had a good year with 437 cats (248 female, 189 male) having been trapped, vet checked and spayed or neutered and then returned to their original haunts or rehomed. This service aims to reduce the number of kittens being born to the many feral cats that are found throughout County Kildare and West Wicklow, as well as allowing the older cats to lead healthier, safer and happier lives. Feral kittens, if they are caught when young enough, can usually be tamed and can then be rehomed as domstic pets. And some of the adult cats, who probably started life as a domestic pet, can also be rehomed into a home situation. We do ask for the veterinary costs to be covered where possible by those wanting our help. We can TNR for €50 per cat, which can be adjusted depending on the number of cats that are caught. Would you like to help? The KWWSPCA is always looking for people to help with this work so that we can cover more areas of Kildare and West Wicklow. If you are interested in helping with this work and would like to become part of the TNR team, please call 089 4588162 or email kwwspcacatrehoming@gmail.com. Full training will be given, equipment provided and appropriate costs covered.
