Ludvig

Ludvig is a 9 month old Belgian Malinois. He is a magnificient dog and at only 9 months old is still a puppy, as these dogs really are pups until they are about two years old. He is already a big dog, and, judging by the size of his paws, he still has more growing to do. He is a super intelligent dog. He has had a lttle bit of training in that he understands the ‘sit’ command, and also seems to be house trained. He is very affectionate and loves to be around people. He is good on the lead, although can pull a bit when excited. He seems to be okay around other dogs, however he is not sharing with another dog at our shelter because we do not currently have a dog that would be a match for this big boy, therefore a meet and greet with any potential ‘house mate’ would be absolute essental. Ludvig must go to an experienced home, his family must have experience with shepherds or other large restricted breed dogs, and they must be prepared to give training in terms of mental stimulation and physical exercise too. In the wrong hands, a dog like this will become difficult, so we will be recommending that his family enlist the services of a well qualified dog trainer in order to ensure that Ludvig reaches his full potential. We have no idea what he is like with cats, and regarding children in his home…this will very much depend on the experience of his new family. He will definitely need an active family. Please do not apply of you do not have experience, are not active, are not willing to provide training and stimulation, or are looking for a guard dog or a dog to provide some element of security on your property. Ludvig is vaccinated, neutered and chipped (chip number 981020002391858, origin Ireland).
