Marnie: Applications closed

Marnie is a very young White Shepherd, we estimate her to be only about 9-10 months old. She loves humans, and will fall asleep on your lap if you spend time stroking her head. She is good on the lead, but needs a little bit of training to prevent her from biting on the lead…we have found that she does not bite a chain lead so it’s better to use a chain lead rather than a fabric lead when walking her. She is quite full on with other dogs, and a meet and greet would be essential for any family who currently has a dog that might be considering adopting her. The family dog would need to be very tolerant of boisterous play, and be able to give a warning when they have had enough. They would also need to be big enough to cope with a playful dog. When out walking she can also be prone to pulling towards other dogs, therefore it would be preferable for her to go to a home where she can be taken for walks without meeting too many other dogs and her handler must be prepared to give her some training in this area. Her new family must have experience of German Shepherds or similar large breed dogs, and must be prepared to give the necessary training and guidance. They will be rewarded with a loyal and affectionate dog. She is not suitable as a guard dog, and she should not go to a home where there are any children under the age of 14 as she is still inclined to nip in a puppy like manner which can be painful.
Marnie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped (chip number 972274200279839).
