Pedro has recently come into the care of the KWWSPCA from the Kildare Dog Pound. We believe he is a Labrador cross and is about a year old. He is a very friendly dog and craves attention and affection. He is an active, energetic dog and has had very little training. He understands ‘sit’, but he will need some lead training as he is strong on the lead. He absolutely loves chasing toys and balls in our garden and will play there for hours with our volunteers. He mixes well with the other dogs at our shelter. He would need to go to a home where there would be someone with him for a good part of the day who would be willing to train him. He would not suit a home with young children as he would probably knock them over in his enthusiasm. He will need quite a bit of exercise and play and mental stimulation as he is an intelligent young dog that would get bored easily and quickly. He would not suit a home where he would be left on his own for long periods of time. Pedro has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is living at the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter near Athgarvan and can be visited there from 2 – 4, Mondays to Saturdays, or at other times by appointment by either calling 087 1279835 or emailing We ask for a minimum rehoming fee of 130 euro when we rehome a dog to partly cover their veterinary and other costs, a dog licence and collar tag are required and a home check will be made before the adoption can be completed.
