My name is Pingu. I’m waiting and waiting, and ever so hopeful……you see, nobody wants me. Nobody!! I’m a little Patterdale terrier, so I could be described as having lots of character. You see, we were bred as little hunting terriers in the Lake District area of England, so that we would be small enough to hunt rodents, rabbits and fox in heather and scrub. So I’m an Inquisitive, Friendly, Intelligent, Bold, Energetic, Confident little dog….there’s no fear of mice or rats anywhere that I’m around, that’s for sure. I’m a hardy boy, I love people and will be a super loyal dog to my new owner, as Patterdales tend to form a strong bond with their main carer. I’m a high energy dog and will not be happy with a low energy family. Because I’m an intelligent little chap, I’m feeling very stressed and unhappy at the shelter, and I really need to get out. I have been here for to long, and am starting to lose hope as I watch the other dogs around me heading home happily with their new families who have all walked past me without even a second glance. My home should have no cats, I would like to have my human all to myself rather than have to share with another dog. A home with a good sized and secure backyard would be essential, as dogs like me do like to track and wander off.
