Gideon is a lovely 2 year old lurcher who is hoping to find a loving home . Poor Gideon is very unfortunate because he is black, and nobody seems to want a black lurcher. Unfortunately they don’t photograph well and never look as good in a photograph as they do in real life. Black lurchers have the most beautiful shiny coats, and are stunning dogs, always sure to attract admiring glances and comments. Gideon has the temperament to match his handsome looks. He is quiet, easy going, and laid back, and just wants to be by your side or at your feet. For some reason, other male lurchers tend to pick on Gideon making his life difficult, and he suffered a nasty bite recently from which he is recovering. He is living happily in a foster home with a female lurcher with whom he is very gentle. They love to run zoomies together in the garden. Gideon is extremely gentle on the lead and is a dream to walk. He is very affectionate and is first out of bed every morning to greet you with a tail wag and a nudge in the hand so that you will pet him on his head. He would suit a home without a cat, and without any small furry dogs or other animals, as lurchers can have a prey drive. Like most lurchers, two shorter walks or one longer walk per day will keep him happy, and he will then snore the day away on a couch or in his bed. Gideon should be fine in a home with children who understand that they must respect a dog, and he could possibly suit apartment living provided that there is access to a space for toilet breaks and for nice daily walks. Gideon has been neutered, vaccinated and chipped (chip number 972274200305629, origin Ireland). He is house trained.
