This lovely lad is Ben. He is a seven year old Springer/setter cross who recently came into the care of the kwwspca. His coat was badly matted and he had to have a bit of a hair cut by ourselves as no groomers were available but his coat will grow back and he will be as handsome as ever. Ben is a typical springer by nature…he is lively and full of energyand must go to a home where his exercise needs will be met…he will need lots of walking and stimulation, he cannot be left to amuse himself all day in the garden as he will not be happy. He loves his walks and can be strong on the lead, therefore we recommend the use of a canny collar as it reduces pulling. Ben loves to play ball and he’s absolutely amazing at catching a ball in the air…he would spend hours playing ball with you if you have the time to give him. He does not like to share his ball with another dog and therefore he will be best going to a home where he is the only dog. Ideally his home should be with an active family who will be able to take him for long walks in the countryside. As he is energetic and lively we will not rehome him to a family with young children, minimum age 12 years old please. We do not know how Ben gets on with cats. Ben is neutered, vaccinated and chipped (chip number 941000014885175, origin Ireland). If you would like to offer Ben a home please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a pre adoption form. We are looking for people with experience of active dogs such as springers, setters, collies. He is not a pet for a first time dog owner. We ask for a minimum rehoming donation of €150 to partly offset our veterinary and other costs, a licence and collar tag are required to complete the adoption and a secure garden is required.
