Rocky is a very good natured and friendly dog who is now available for rehoming. Rocky is two years old and he is a collie mix, possibly collie /husky. He has a lovely temperament which was very evident when he spent 3 hours receiving a grooming at our shelter. He never once reacted badly despite the fact that his coat was extremely matted and his skin was sore as a result. He stood quietly and let Angela work away, including clipping his claws and cleaning his ears. He even gave her the paw numerous time and many little kisses on her ear. He is good on the lead, just a little strong when taken out initially, due to excitement. He lives with another male dog, and seems friendly towards other dogs in general but we have not mixed him with any dogs apart from his kennel mate. We have no idea how he is with cats. He seems to be house trained. Whoever adopts Rocky needs to be aware that his coat will need to be maintained. He will require brushing as it grows, and we would suggest he be brushed on a daily basis, and he will need visits to a groomer occasionally to keep his comfortable. Rocky is neutered, vaccinated and chipped (Chip number 990000001348687, origin Ireland). If you are interested in adopting Rocky please submit an expression of interest form which can be found in the following link http://kwwspca.ie/adoption-process/.
No calls please. We ask for a minimum donation of €150 when we rehome a dog to partly offset our veterinary and other expenses. A dog licence and collar tag are required to complete the adoption, and a secure garden is required.
