Zach is an amazing German Shepherd cross who has only recently come into our care. We estimate that he is around 7 or 8 years old and he is an absolute gentleman. He is extremely affectionate and is at his happiest when he is trotting along with a volunteer ‘helping’ with the daily chores around the shelter. He absolutely wallows in belly rubs, and loves to be petted and to have his ears stroked. He is good on the lead, and is fully house trained. As an older boy, he would like a home where he can spend his days in your company…he must be a house dog. He should have his bed in the house and should not be confined to a yard or garden. He seems to be fine with other dogs. We think that Zach will make a wonderful companion and invite you to come to meet him at our shelter outside Athgarvan, Co Kildare if you think you might be interested in offering him a home. When he first came into our care he had to have quite a few of his teeth removed. One molar had the ring pull from a drinks can embedded in it, and had a very bad infection which was evidenced by the smell when the tooth was removed. We can only imagine the pain that poor Zach was experiencing, but yet he remained ever gentle and calm. He is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. We ask for a minimum donation of 150 euro to partly offset our veterinary expenses. A licence and a collar disc are required to complete the adoption, a secure garden is required and a home visit applies. A 50 euro deposit is required to secure a booking.
