Zip (Reserved)

Zip is a one year old miniature Dachshund Cross. He is a little reserved at first and needs to be given time to get to know you. He is quite an energetic little lad and likes to play with a ball. Typical of his breed, he can be a little possessive of his toys. He likes his walks, is good on the lead, but is not a dog that could be taken hill walking or on very long vigorous walks. Exercise that involves jumping or a lot of steps should be avoided as, due to his long back, this type of exercise could lead to spinal problems. One Zip settles with his new family he should be loyal and entertaining but it should be noted that he would be best in a family with another small dog as Dachshunds like the company of another dog, especially small dogs or other Dachshunds, but they can be scrappy towards larger dogs. If they get lonely they have the potential for digging holes. They are not ideal for families with small children as they can be intolerant of them therefore a family with older children or no children is recommended. Zip has been chipped, neutered and vaccinated and is now awaiting his new home. We ask for a minimum donation of €150 to partly offset our expenses , a licence and collar tag are required to complete the adoption, a secure garden is essential, and a home visit applies.
