Duchess: applications closed

Unfortunately the home we had for Duchess has fallen through and she is once again available. Duchess is a stunning German Pointer, 4 years old, who recently came to us and is now hoping to find a nice new home. Duchess is good with most other dogs, and she loves people. She currently shares her kennel (and bes) and outdoor run with Abel, and they are the best of friends. She has been starved of affection, and is always absolutely delighted when someone gives her attention, she will literally hug you. She can be strong on the lead therefore a little bit of lead training will be required. Being a hunting dog, she is an active, lively girl, and we think that a home in a more rural area will suit her better than a home in a very built up area. Her new family must be prepared to provide her with plenty of walks and lots of stimulation to keep her happy. We don’t know what she is like with cats, therefore we are looking for a cat free home. Duchess has an amazing ability to climb and is therefore a bit of a houdini…she needs a very secure property, with high surrounds that do not offer the opportunity for a dog to jump over, or do not have barbeques, trees, etc. around the edges that can be used as a step up. Ideally she should not be left outside unsupervised.
Duchess has been spayed, vaccinated and chipped (chip number 972274000365526, origin Ireland).
