Mario needs avery special home with a family who have experience of larger dogs, and will be prepared to show him patience while he adapts to living in a new home.
Mario is a 3 year old Dalmatian cross who is now looking for a new home. He is a big, strong dog, not for the faint hearted. He is friendly and good natured. He is good on the lead and needs lots of walking…he will need two walks every day, and each walk should be for at least 45 minutes. We do not know how he is with other dogs or with cats. He came from a situation where he was alone for long periods of time, we do not want to see him going back to a situation like this again. His home should have someone at home for a good period of the day, and in a position to walk him. Someone who works from home may not necessarily suit, as when working from home it is often difficult to take walks during the day. He also needs a home where there is a garden with plenty of space for him to explore when you are at home with him, and is secure. He seems to be ‘house trained’ in that he does not like to soil his living quarters. Please only apply for adoption if you are able to provide this dog with what he needs…companionship, affection, exercise and stimulation. Be mindful of the fact that dalmatians were originally carriage dogs…they could run for miles alongside a moving horse-drawn carriage. We are not dealing with Pongo and Purdy here, this is a real, live dog. Mario is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped (chip number 972270000257521, origin Ireland).
If you are interested in adopting Mario please submit an expression of interest form which can be found in the following link http://kwwspca.ie/adoption-process/
No calls please.
We ask for a minimum donation of €150 to partly offset our veterinary and other expenses. A dog licence and collar tag are required to complete the adoption, and a secure garden is required.
