What a gentle, friendly boy! This most unusual and very eye catching head turner of a greyhound is Poldark who has very much become a huge favourite amongst all the volunteers at our shelter. Blue greyhounds are acturally quite rare so Poldark is a very special boy. Poldark will be 2 years old at the end of February, he is still a very young dog. Poldark is a lovely friendly dog, he loves his comforts and is always delighted to come into our kitchen and snuggle on the warm soft bed, and he very much loves to place his head in your lap to be petted. He is just a snuggle bug who really loves human company and cannot wait to find a family to call his own. He is very gentle on the lead and loves his walks, and like most greyhounds, he is happy with two walks of about 20-30 minutes daily and will then lounge around somewhere warm and comfortable for the rest of the day. Greyhounds are the ultimate couch potato, many people are under the illusion that they need loads of exercise and need to run!run!run! whereas, in fact, they only like short bursts of speed and then prefer to take things easy. They are generally fairly goofy dogs and are sure to make you smile when you see them asleep on their backs with their four legs straight up in the air. Poldark would like a home with a garden that is big enough for him to run zoomies, this doesn’t mean a huge garden, as many greyhounds are known to do zoomies on the couch or in their favourite sandpit. He must not go to a home with a cat, or with anything small and furry as he has a high prey drive, and he might prefer to be the only dog in his home.

Poldark is neutered, vaccinated and chipped (chip number 977200009497774, date of birth 24 Feb 2020, weight 36kg, height from top of head to ground 90cms).
